  • Approved City of Lake Worth Beach Business/Rental Licenses

  • Approved Use & Occupancy Inspection (Due every three years)

  • Work Without a Permit

  • Landscape Maintenance

  • Garbage/Trash/Debris

  • Overflowing Commercial Dumpsters

  • Overgrown Vacant Lots

  • Major Auto Repairs (Private Property)

  • Unlicensed and/or Inoperable Vehicles (Private Property)

Red tag Complaints

All Red Tag Complaints for vehicles/vessels located on the Public Right-of-Way must be submitted to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Non-Emergency Number 561-688-3400.

All Red Tag Complaints for vehicles/vessels located on Private Property must be submitted to the City of Lake Worth Beach Code Compliance Division 561-586-1652.

Business

All businesses located within the City limits require both a City and a Palm Beach County Business Tax Receipt (Occupational Licenses).

All properties used for commercial purposes or residential rentals must have a City of Lake Worth Beach business/rental license to include an approved Use & Occupancy Inspection. Use & Occupancy Inspections are due every three years. 

All properties used for commercial purposes must have City of Lake Worth Beach Business licenses for both the owner and the tenant(s).

Remedial Services

  • The City may board up commercial/residential buildings after the required legal notification is made to the property owner.

  • The City may clean/clear vacant lots after the required legal notification is made to the property owner.

  • The City may demolish unsafe residential buildings under the Standard Housing Code.

Building Codes

  • All structural repairs, re-roofing and most plumbing and electrical work require a permit.

  • Permits are required for all mechanical and building installation work.

  • All new fences and fence repairs greater than 16 feet require a permit.,

Zoning Codes

  • Setback Violations (sheds and other structures too close to the property line)

  • Setbacks are required between property lines and sheds, air conditioner units, RVs, boats, etc.

Other Important Information

Code Compliance Officers are cross-trained to address multiple violations.  When life/health/safety issues are involved, officers work with officials from Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and various departments within the City of Lake Worth Beach.

Violators are allowed a reasonable amount of time to correct violations. Special Magistrate hearings are scheduled if they are not corrected within a reasonable timeframe.
